In a series of key meetings, Global Kairos continues to strengthen ties with UK-based organisations that promote youth civic engagement and political education, reaffirming its commitment to an international agenda focused on young leadership.

LONDON – What once felt distant is now becoming a tangible reality. Global Kairos, an Argentine organisation devoted to training young people in global citizenship and social leadership, has taken a significant step forward in its international outreach with two strategic meetings in the British capital. The organisation was represented by its CEO, Máximo Fernández, political scientist, professor at the University of Buenos Aires, and advocate for youth diplomacy.
The first meeting took place in Notting Hill with the team at Shout Out UK, an organisation that tirelessly works to empower youth through political literacy, critical thinking, and media education. With a strong focus on tackling misinformation and promoting active citizenship, the exchange revealed many points of resonance. Representatives discussed shared challenges, methodologies, and above all, the potential for meaningful binational collaborations.
The second stop was in Brixton, South London, where The Advocacy Academy runs a vibrant programme empowering young activists from historically marginalised communities. The meeting was both inspiring and thought-provoking: in an area marked by cultural richness and deep social inequalities, the academy demonstrates how youth work can — and must — be radically transformative. The dialogue centred around innovative approaches to community organising, the role of emotional education in shaping young leaders, and the need to support youth activism through intersectional, rights-based frameworks.
These two meetings not only offered mutual learning but reaffirmed the importance of purposeful networking: building alliances based on shared values, mutual recognition, and the belief that collaboration among peers can create real impact in local and global communities. For a Latin American organisation like Global Kairos, such spaces are crucial to amplify Southern voices on the international stage, and to prove that solutions to global challenges are built from the ground up — through solidarity and cooperation.
This journey to London wasn’t just about institutional meetings. It was a concrete opportunity to open doors, nurture relationships, and plant seeds for future joint projects, cross-cultural training, and advocacy platforms. We’re deeply thankful for the warm welcome and rich exchanges, and hope these are just the first steps in a meaningful shared path.
