Youth Diplomats in San Rafael, Mendoza: A Success in Youth Diplomacy

On September 7 and 8, Kairos Global held its first Youth Diplomats program in the city of San Rafael, Mendoza. This event was especially significant as it marked the first time that the program was aimed at high school students, an important milestone in our mission to empower new generations on issues of democracy and human rights.

The central topic of this edition was the Antarctic Treaty, a key international agreement that regulates the administration of Antarctica for peaceful purposes and scientific cooperation. During the program, participants simulated the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting and the Committee for Environmental Protection. Through these simulations, the young people took on diplomatic roles and discussed environmental and scientific policies, exploring issues of global interest such as the preservation of Antarctic ecosystems and the future of international cooperation in the region.

The commitment and enthusiasm shown by the participants fills us with pride and motivates us to continue expanding this type of initiatives that allow young people to understand the importance of dialogue and international cooperation.

Thank you to all who made this first step towards a new generation of youth diplomats possible!
